Two breakouts I had today:
- Creating the Large Group Experience - Sunny Williams
- The Father Factor - Craig Jutila
Creating the Large Group Experience
3 Things:
Now you need to spend time in all 3 of these aspects and not just focus on one. I’ll try to be brief. I will give you a couple takeaways for production peeps. Use more music, adult large groups use it a ton to set mood and energy in the room. If the mood or energy isn’t where you want it then throw some music down that aids the mood. Not only music but a Producer. Now alot of staff people try to play the role of Producer but that is probably not your only role for that service. It is critical to get a detail oriented encourager in that role.
Father Factor I would love to spill my guts on this one, but I’ll give you two things:
- First I’ll post his worksheet when I get back to the office so you can get the goodies.
- Second, I’m not a dad but planning on being one in the distant future. Sorry Kristen
But great tidbits… Really awesome breakout…
I’ve realized that the breaks allow me to try and catch up. But not enough time to adequately throw up my learning on you! So you’ll have to wait to wipe the junk off your face
anyway we are collaborating the live blog so all the peeps in the bloggers lounge will be involved in the liveblog.

So I told you a little about our teambuilding and I thought I would show you my favorite picture and a story behind it. At the Georgia Aquarium there is a ton of alligators in this one tank. Kids were crowding. This one very brave child bucks up to a gator. Bad idea…. here is what ensues….
imagine about 12 gators snap and then immediately stare down the kiddies. And I mean crazy stare down like we haven’t been fed if you make fun of us again you will be an appetizer and if you think im joking do that cute little buckup again son… What?! What?!
ok so maybe I embellished the gator speak but everything else is completely true. Completely true. And funny!
Anyway a story from a picture I thought I would share. Reggie got me thinking about pics last night. Might do the live blogging thing if people are into it. Don’t know how much I can do that other people aren’t already doing. Anyway #orange09 is 1 min. away I’m out!!!!
Wanna see the rest of the pics check them out here.
So tons of people posted about their thoughts and ideas from the preconference. I did not attend the Preconference and there is actually a legitimate reason why which I will get to in a bit. Basically we all know that there are tons of awesome reasons to attend Orange
- crazy awesome speakers: Francis Chan, Andy Stanley, Louie Giglio, etc.
- Great resources from curriculum to music to books and knowledge.
- incredible worship and outstanding challenges from those just like you in roles just like yours.
And those are awesome. But something I think more important for at least the health of our team is the fact that we get ministered to…together. We spend Sundays in #kidmin in different areas and different ways, but usually never together, except for now. Orange Conference gives you an opportunity to get together with your ministry team and worship and grow and learn and hear the word of God together.
Today we took some time for some teambuilding and went to the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coke Museum. It was awesome to just hang out and have fun. It’s cool to get away for awhile and concentrate on strengthening yourself and your team. I had an incredible time but I really wanted to add just another reason why you should come to Orange 2010. Make sure that you make the jump. If you feel as if you are still unsure about taking your team.
