Great Weekend!

I just got into the office after an incredible weekend this weekend. We went to Acworth, GA to see some friends at Freedom Church.

Pastor JR Lee was my student minister when I was in Memphis, TN and their family and Todd Lollis‘ family started a church one year ago this past Sunday. They are doing amazing things and if you are anywhere close to Acworth, GA you need to check them out…

Also just had an incredible time with my wife. I had so much fun hanging out with my wife and seeing some little ones on her arm. She is going to make an awesome mother.

Anyway getting back to the grind today. Already rendering some green screen footage.

Check this guy out!

Looking through my blog stats today and saw a link for one of my friends that started a blog…. today!

So here is what I want you to do. I want you to throw some traffic his way. His name is Aaron Lewis and his wife’s name is Jessica. They moved here not too long ago from Michigan. They have quickly become some of Mine and Kristen’s best friends. They are incredible people and Aaron is an incredible friend. He has come from alot of baggage and is overcoming it day by day. He is passionate about completing his mission from God. He’s also a Michigan fan-all sports (which is very refreshing). And he is also a Lions fan and yes he’s upset that they didn’t win a game. It is always nice to find friends that care about you and have your back no matter what and Aaron and Jess are in that status. Drop him a comment and let him know that you will pray for him just like you guys do for me.

Thanks!!!

Update on Life…

Just a few updates on life:

  • Great comments on this post
  • Also some not so great comments as well. Guess I should really put more thought into my titles…
  • Big Process of Change happening. We moved offices this weekend and are now in our brand new office building. I have a desk now! (pics coming)
  • I am now separated from our Children’s Pastor and will probably have a few anxiety attacks.
  • I have been learning so much about grace and God’s picture of me. If only I could grasp what God thinks of me and live my life under that view.
  • Kids are growing and learning more.
  • The Drama portion of the Basketball Devotions we have been producing got finished yesterday. Big relief!
  • Really incredible week this week with some great new friends. Aaron and Jess Lewis are two awesome incredible people.

That’s all for now lots to do today. Thanks for reading.

Take this Quiz!

I took this quiz on the advice of Dave Wakerley’s blog.

You should take it as well. Take the quiz and check out their book that is coming out soon.

I took the 43 Things Personality Quiz and found out I’m a

The Week Ahead

So much to do this week but not as stressful as the past few weeks:

  1. Going to Columbia this week to see the inlaws. They are incredible and I’m sure we will have an awesome time.
  2. Relaxation will happen this week, I took a day off early to just kind of soak at home for a bit before we leave that night.
  3. The Grizzlies play the Lakers tonight (two points to consider: I despise the Lakers alot, I despise Pau Gasol alot more)
  4. I hope I get a little bit of time to do some more live lyric type stuff. The one I did this past week went alright and used keyframing that I doubt I will use in alot of the stuff but really gave me some needed experience in motion.
  5. READING!!! I haven’t had much time to sit down and read a book over the past few weeks and it is driving me insane. But this will definitely happen this week.

Anyway hope everyone has an awesome week this week and I can’t wait to hear stories from you guys about Christmas!!

No way in the world I couldn’t pick these football games.

Ok so there are a few conf. championships going on this weekend. I wanted to weigh in with some picks and a few opinions.

First the one that I want to watch soooo bad. Florida vs. Alabama in the SEC Championship.

Here is what I will say to you. I have seen Alabama play some teams that play a similar style to Florida. Obviously they don’t have the complete package that Florida has but they want to get to the edge and beat you with their speed. The use misdirection and option style plays to make an impact. Alabama doesn’t care. They have beaten everyone. If you are a college football team would you rather have the best offensive and defensive lines or the best skill players. I know that I would much rather have the lines. And that is what Alabama has. I don’t think that Bama struggles to win this one at all. I know this isn’t popular and I might be totally wrong but I don’t see bama losing this one.

Next the Big 12 Championship

OU vs. Missou

Honestly I really want Missou to win this so the BCS will crumble and maybe a playoff system will at least be considered by some major programs. Anyway, It’s gonna be cold and it’s a stadium that Missou played in last week. They are a bit more accustomed to it. Plus OU is not in good graces right now really with anyone on a national scale. And the fact that Bob Stoops has lost big games when not at home in the last 3 years has made me really think Missou has a chance. I am picking OU but I really really think Missou has a shot at this thing.

I would pick the ACC Championship but honestly no one cares.

USC beats UCLA and gets another BCS berth.

That’s it. Check it out. let me know what you think.

My thankful post

While I had some time while my video work is rendering, I wanted to just highlight a few people that I am extremely thankful for.

  • My Wife: she is an incredible encouragement today. As most of you know she has school and a job and she is a wife and that is a giant workload. Especially because she is my wife. But she still has time to be my biggest fan in the world. I know that she believes in me even more than I do alot of times. Not only that but she also has no problem whipping me into shape. She has taught me more about loving others more than anyone in the world. If you don’t know Mrs. Kristen Thompson then you are definitely missing out. Plus she’s hott and my wife and so all those things are in her favor.
  • My Parents: I remember since like third grade my dad telling me that I needed to go to college so that I wouldn’t have to work like him. He’s a machinist. I had a great childhood and this is all because of my parents. They pushed me when it wasn’t popular to push your kids. They were hard on me when I screwed up and loved me through everything. I never had to worry about where my parents stood on the issue of me and my sister. We knew that they loved us with all they had. Now I’m getting to experience a softer side a more relaxed side. I think that God is blessing them with a little relief that one of their kids is done with college and is a success in life and love. My sis will soon join me in that realm. Mom and Dad I am who I am because of you and for that and so much more I am thankful.
  • Children’s Ministry Staff at Brookwood Church: I was brought in on some interesting circumstances. I actually heard about the job and met my boss at the same place. Wild Wing Cafe. I was looking for a job but hadn’t even considered ministry because I figured that it would come later in the future. From love and care and fun to overwhelmingly creative sparks and experience that I couldn’t get from anywhere else. They care for me in a crazy way. And we gel. We are a team with a unified purpose that we always know. I am so thankful for the influence that you all are in my life. All 12 or so of you, hahaha.

I am thankful for so much in my life. God only knows how much I need each of you in my life. Continue to live for Him in a world that denies Him. I love each of you and am so thankful that God has strategically placed each of you in my life. You guys rock!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hey I just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful thanksgiving. I am extremely thankful for so much in my life and I absolutely love this holiday.

I’m just hanging out in Memphis and chillin with the family. Don’t forget to comment on the last post. There will probably be another follow up post to that one soon.

Update on a few things

Here are a few of the things going on in my world that I am pretty excited about:

  • Between 20-30 3rd-5th graders were serving at the service this past week. From Worship to Telling the Bible story to tech team. Really Awesome!!!
  • CS4 just came in for my Mac today! I am so incredibly pumped to see what is new!
  • Memphis got a commitment from the No. 1 player in High School Basketball yesterday! I’m pretty pumped about that.
  • I am going to Memphis on Tuesday. It will be cool to see my family and eat some Thanksgiving food.
  • Ned got a brand New Macbook Pro. It’s pretty sweet.
  • Red released a new single and its good, I’m excited for their album.

I sound like a giddy school child today but there is a ton of stuff going on that I am terribly excited about. Incredible fun!

First post this week

I know, I know. Terrible job by me but we are writing curriculum and we had staff teambuilding this past week so times are busy. But just wanted to let you guys know that I am doing fine. I am excited about the things that we are writing and I hope to show them to you very soon. I am also really enjoying this week. Kristen and I started a new book that is teaching both of us alot about one another.

Anyway just wanted to let everyone know that it’s all alright. I’m still in the blog world just consumed with things right now.

As always thanks for reading!
