It’s finally here!!
I’ve been using an app called Desk for the last few months as a Beta tester and I’ve been loving it!!
Yes, it’s awesome for bloggers. Yes it’s amazing for social media. But the absolute best thing about the app is that for some magical reason, it gets me to write more.
As a pastor or a leader in ministry, writing is an essential part of my job. I’ve had to learn this skill and find ways to improve my efficiency and effectiveness in this craft and Desk is now a necessary part of my workflow.
I’ll just go through a few of my highlights for Desk as an app.
Distraction free writing
If you use Word, which I’m assuming pretty much everyone does, you are accustomed to having a ton of buttons and tools at your disposal, but few people have actually tried to write without them.
The toolbar just freaks me out and as someone who appreciates beauty in his applications, I need something cleaner. Desk provides a clean, writing environment with no fluff.
That means I have to concentrate on doing exactly what I need to be doing: writing.
If you’ve never tried it before, writing without distraction, this app is for you and is worth the price just to try it.
Local copies of posts
I’m working on a new side project right now and I’ve done all of my writing thru Desk. Because I’m waiting to have enough content for 6 months worth of posts to be scheduled before I launch the blog, I need a way to write and save my posts without submitting them to the blog…yet.
So I have an actual copy of every one of my blog posts ready to go live on my blog once I launch.
If you are like me and want a little more control over your content and don’t want to have to do the 10 click “cake-walk” to get posts in wordpress every-time, this is for you!
Plus there is a cloud option for you too 🙂
This is such a huge part of the flexibility of Desk. It’s about writing. But we all write to use it somewhere. Desk helps you write so then you can post it almost anywhere!
This is huge for people that really make their cake by writing.
So if you are looking for a way to up your writing game, then Desk is for you.
Also, they have a blog.
What tools do you use to help you write?
Thanks John for building quality stuff and for helping bloggers! You rock.
