It’s been interesting how being in the role of High School Pastor is changing me. I’m more interested in developing people (or students) that are interested in changing the world. It’s such a different goal than in Preteen Ministry. It’s just as important but the sense of mission in me is growing.
I was looking at the definition of mission online this morning.
That describes me at this point. This morning I was joined by close to 50 high school students as we spent a Saturday morning pouring into a community organization called Mauldin Miracle League. It’s an organization that gives people with disabilities the chance to play baseball. I saw students “buddy up” with some folks less fortunate but maybe more excited about life.
I feel like our students will be different as their desire to pour into others grows. I’m excited to see what God does, but ultimately as the conviction for high school students grows, so does my desire to build world changers. It will be a call that I will work hard at accomplishing, but God is faithful and I want our faith, to be a faith that he looks at as great!
Do you believe that teenagers can really change the world? How do your actions reflect that belief?
