A little design flavor

So we are doing Zooplosion from Elevate Kids for our next series @ BrookwoodKiDs.

I thought it wold be cool to do sort of a posterize type effect on some animals. So here is what we came out with.

Sorry for the formatting and quality I took a screenshot to put them all together.

So these will be printed separately and are 2′ wide x 8′ tall. We printed them using our plotter and we also made some promo signs using our posters we have behind our check-in.

Let me know what you think. I took some pictures of animals that I found and the rest is original…

Kids texting in tips for Crimes?

Police want kids to text in tips to help eliminate crime

Seems like a novel idea but I have no idea if it will work… A couple things to think about:

  • Increasing desire to have responsibility now for this current generation
  • Most connected generation in the history of the world

So this idea seems to satisfy some national trends. I wonder if the hoaxes will keep the police from pursuing the program that may end up saving lives.

But mainly I wanted to post this to allow you to weigh in. What do you think?

Pimp that Site

Well today I am pushing a site that some folks at Brookwood just started. I love to put other people’s name out there as long as you have some quality content. So today that site is StudentsbyDesign.com

It’s a blog all about Student Ministry. From Worship, the Student Pastors, and Production they are rocking with some great content for those of you in #Stumin. They are added to the blogroll now so if you gotta chance just click on the link on the post or even the blogroll on the side to connect with their stuff.

Also if you like what you see there subscribe to their feed. Just another way of spreading the blog love. And if you like there is a button at the top for me too ;)

Be careful little hands what you type…

First know that this post is not in anyway aimed at anyone at all just a helpful reminder. “Be Careful about what you post” is a little story from my home town of Memphis, TN. In case you didn’t know we can get a little defensive of our great city. And someone hot shot thought that he could type whatever he liked coming in town to a very important business meeting. The people their didn’t think too highly of that.

Know that businesses are on the web as well as other personal contacts and people read everything that you put out on the web. It is extremely important to practice respect and tact on the web. Just a friendly reminder.

Blogger’s Block…

I’ve had some seriously bad weeks creatively the past few weeks. I’m not sure why just seems off. So nothing creative or funny the past few weeks for me is like really really bad.

So first I really need some prayer. I’ve had some deep thinking going on but not much creative decision making or even thought processes. I am lacking some dreams right now and that is not a good place for me… I need some serious prayer and some reflection…

One of the thoughts that I’ve always had is this quote by Edgar Cayce

“Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions”

While Cayce was sort of a weirdo… I think this is extremely true. I think that dreams are what push us forward with vision and gusto. So I am praying that I get out of this funk very soon…
