How can Social Media connect and multiply impact?

I think we would all agree with the rise of:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook (I know the oldies are gettin in on it now :) )
  • Live streaming

These are the tools to reach people now. Do you think it’s a coincidence that we are in the middle of a terrible economy and crisis and yet the church is finding incredible ways of connecting with people never thought possible?

My question is this:

How can we use the tools that are now at our disposal to impact the kingdom of Christ TOGETHER?

So I think I am gonna take the plunge.

I have been thinking about it and thinking about it and thinking about it.

And then I thought about it some more and I finally think I am gonna do it.

I am going to buy a domain name!

I am excited and yet nervous because there will definitely be some more work involved. But I guess I really must move forward with this process. I am totally excited and yet nervous for putting a bigger commitment into this thing. But my mom and now my wife read this blog so I will still have some readership after the big move.

;)

So until I figure this thing out keep up right here and I will let you know as soon as you can make the switch!

Thanks for reading. Also I really want to know what you guys are doing for Valentine’s Day. I have something but I know that you are incredibly creative people so I am interested in what you guys are planning on doing.

What are the best things that you’ve seen in a blog?

I really need some feedback on this one… What would you love to see on a blog? What are some things that you find extremely interesting on a blog like mine? Besides my incredible commentary ( :) ) Sarcasm being used there.

All this because I’m looking to upgrade the blog a little and had some ideas but would love some feedback!

Video Work on the Horizon

I have been knee deep in some pretty big projects that are really exciting and challenging at the same time. We just got a new camera a couple weeks back and have been working incredibly hard to make sure that we can use it efficiently. Not to mention the fact that Brookwood now has a pretty excellent studio for Video work and an incredibly giant Green Screen!

And for people like Ned(Children’s Pastor and Boss) and I that means lots of practice time! So I am going to post a video that we used for our staff teambuilding that was filmed on a green screen. There are some issues with it but I would absolutely love to hear some feedback on tips, or things that you might have changed on this video.

I think its pretty good. We didn’t use Motion to key it out we decided to try it out only in Final Cut. So most of the changes are manual in a Chroma Keyer and we also used the Matte Choker filter and a few other things. So let me know what you think of our Green Screen footage!

Ok so now you can Subscribe! Aren’t you excited? :)

Big Hair Competition at Catalyst

So after a nice night of sleep on a hotel bed. My boss and I were trying to come up with a way to infuse even more fun into an incredibly fun event at Catalyst. Well we knew that since church people would be there, and that most of the church people are in the middle of the post modern movement, we knew it would be a hub of metrosexualism. So we figured we could get enough photos of big hair to make it worthwhile. So without further ado, I present to you the Day 1 contestants. Please vote for your favorites.

My friends

So if you know me from SC, you are probably wondering to yourself:

I wonder what J.C. was like in Memphis. There doesn’t seem to be alot to do there. Well, I was talking to a very good friend the other day reminiscing on old times and talking about his future. His name is David Jacks and he is going to be doing incredible things. He is wearing the Beckham jersey in this video. He is also in the Mr. University of Memphis pageant this week. So root him on and let me know what you think of this David C. Jacks and Jesse Moffat original song.
