Thanks 3amjosh!
I had a vlog for Wednesday Wisdom but didn’t have time to finish it. It will happen maybe tonight or I might just wait until Next Wednesday. I was also incredibly blessed by the service last night at Varsity at Brookwood. I can’t believe that almost 90% of the teens at Varsity last night committed to lift up Christ at their schools.
Also the led’s were going nuts last night. They were flashing quickly while the message was going on and were very distracting. But i thought to myself how blessed we are to have those lights and they aren’t all that important. God kinda reminded me about the arguments that we had all the time in my marketing classes over media vs. message.
The message imo should never outweigh the time and effort put into the message, but unfortunately most of the time it does, especially in churches.
Also the worship was good. Loved the songs and I think the teens are growing in their attitude towards worship.
Anyway I wanted to apologize and let you know that the Wednesday Wisdom vlog is coming.
All of the tech’s that read this blog I’ve got a question for you guys. I’m going through tutorials of motion and photoshop and illustrator. How in the world do you keep it straight?
Actually my question is: Which should I put my time and effort into? I am in children’s ministry and we do all of the above: video and graphic design. I want to know where to put my time and effort into and also some resources to help me learn.
Tell me what you think.
Today I had an interesting feeling in church. Our 5th graders moved up today and that included my strongest volunteer combo. Father and son.
It’s tough in childrens ministry programming to keep volunteers because generally your stuff is viewed as far inferior to the tech crowd. How do you overcome that? Even when your programming is great there seems to be this barrier and limit. Any suggestions?
Besides the crazy music videos out there guess what two types of videos are the most popular?
Why do you think that is? I really believe that there are two things that I know about life.
Imagine if you can children dancing. That is something that I have really never experience until I got to Brookwood but our kids love to dance. From the Cha Cha Slide to the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle as celebration songs for kids lasting through our large group. It is one of the highlights of my week watching about 500 kids a week dancing to these songs.
If you haven’t played some good dance music for your kids lately I suggest you do it. It will make you laugh and smile like never before.
I am so incredibly excited about Fall at Brookwood Church. Here’s a few things I am excited about that are happening right now at my church.
I love my church and where we are going. I am so glad that we are trying to find new ways to connect with people and build relationships to lead them to Christ.
Thanks Perry for the incredible message and the encouragement at the end. It was Awesome!
I am pumped about Fall and the opportunities that God is giving Brookwood Church. It is truly incredible.
