Tonight we are hosting our first annual BSM Volunteer Kickoff. We are expecting 75% of our leaders to be there!!! Normally 40%-50% attendance for a meeting such as this is a really good percentage. We are pumped for what God is doing in our midst and as busy as we have been the past few weeks, we are more thankful for the opportunity God is giving us to awaken student to his glory.
Tonight we cast vision, train, appreciate, feed, have fun with, and chill with our leaders for the next year. It’s going to be an absolute blast and I can’t wait.
Leaders are the hands and feet of your ministry, without them we would like a bit like Jersey Shore in terms of our complete uselessness, only kidding of course.
Pray for tonight as we cast the vision for Student Ministry and that our leaders come away filled and ready to turn this thing upside down.
I just watched your volunteer thank you video and laughed hysterically. I would like more info on what you did for your “Volunteer Kick-off”, when it was held, and how you advertised. I am the children’s ministry director for a small church (400 members and 35 kids) of a church in Florence, SC.
It started with a huge day in July where we took over the main service and talked about the importance of student ministry. Then we had prepared calendars, sign up cards and information about getting involved with student ministry and then follow up. We made some video announcements through email, we called people on the phone and asked them to come to a huge volunteer kickoff.
The event itself included a Volun-tour (touring the faciliites and where volunteer roles actually happened, cast the vision of student ministry, ate some catered food and did a small bit of training for roles afterwards. Also gave away leader shirts that night.
cool Thanks
